We started our herd a little over a year ago when someone gave my daughter her first myotonic goat.  That was all it took, we were hooked.  My daughter fell in love with them (so did we) and loves to show.  We currently have 21 myotonic (fainters).  We are a proud member of the MGR (Myotonic Goat Registry) and all of our goats are registered.  Our farm is located in northwest Alabama about 15 miles from the Alabama/Tennessee border.

Many people have asked, "Why are they called fainting goats?"  Myotonics have a condition called Myotonia Congenita.  It is a hereditary condition that causes prolonged muscle contractions when the animal gets startled.  This causes them “stiffen” up and in some cases fall over as if they have fainted.  This condition causes no harm to the animal nor does it hurt them in any way.

We love the fainters because of the laid back nature and their resistance to parasites.  They make wonderful pets.  If you would like to have one of your own, please check out our For Sale page.

We ask for a $75.00 non-refundable deposit to hold an animal.  The balance will be due in cash at time of pick up.  If other testing or certificates (health) are required, the buyer is responsible for that cost.  All of our goats will have vaccinations, be wormed, feet trimmed, tattoos, and registered with MGR before leaving our farm.

We like for them to be at least 3-months old before leaving the mother.
